Disclaimer

    1. General information only

The content on this website — including pricing guides, FAQs and "how it works" explanations — is provided for general information about electrical work in Durban and the eThekwini metro. It is not a substitute for an on-site inspection and assessment by a registered electrician. Every property and installation is different, so any guidance here should be confirmed with a proper quote and inspection before you act on it.

    2. Pricing is indicative

Any prices, ranges or fees mentioned on this site are guide figures only and are not a quote or an offer. Electrical work is quote-based, and the final cost depends on the scope of the job, parts and materials, access and any faults found on inspection. We confirm the price in a written quote before any work begins.

    3. Certificates of Compliance (COC)

A valid electrical Certificate of Compliance is issued only after an actual inspection of the installation by our registered electrician, in accordance with the relevant South African regulations and wiring code (SANS 10142). Information on this site about COCs — including when one is required and roughly what it costs — is general guidance and does not itself constitute a certificate or confirmation that any particular installation is compliant.

    4. Safety

Electricity is dangerous. Nothing on this site should be taken as encouragement to carry out your own electrical work. Faulty or non-compliant DIY wiring can cause fire, injury, or death, and may void your insurance. If you are unsure about anything electrical in your home or business, switch the circuit off and call a registered electrician.

    5. Independent operator

Durban Electrical Services is an independent, privately operated electrical contracting business serving Durban and the wider eThekwini metropolitan area in KwaZulu-Natal. We are not a municipal department of the eThekwini Municipality, and we are not the electricity utility or distributor. For supply faults, prepaid meter issues or street-level outages, contact your municipal electricity provider directly.

    6. Imagery

Photographs on the site are a mix of authentic on-site photos and AI-generated illustrative imagery. AI-generated images are intended to be representative of typical electrical work and Durban settings, and are not depictions of specific properties, staff, branded vehicles or completed installations.

Where this site links to external resources (for example regulatory bodies or manufacturers), those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content or accuracy.
